After split with EA, FIFA is returning to games with Netflix as a partner

It was back in 2022 that the FIFA lineup of soccer games from Electronic Arts officially ended, with the company going on to make new titles with the name EA Sports FC. FIFA announced back then that its focus would be on a number of "web 3.0 games." Now, the company has a new partnership for its video games side: Netflix Games.

Announced today, a "newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game" is coming exclusively to Netflix platforms, which are primarily mobile.

"The game, developed and published by Delphi Interactive, allows Netflix members to experience the emotion and drama of the tournament in its purest, most joyful form — in a format that’s fast to learn, thrilling to master, and built for anyone to jump in," says Netflix.

As for the developer, Delphi seems to be a relatively recently set up company that has so far worked with IO Interactive. "We are the architects behind 007 FIRST LIGHT," says Delphi Interactive"s newly established website. "Our model combines the world’s most iconic IP with top-tier creative talent and cutting-edge technology — built around deep alignment between partners and a modern, de-risked approach to development and publishing."

The unnamed game is currently planned to arrive in 2026, with Netflix promising more details later. No screenshots or gameplay have been revealed yet either. Both single-player and multiplayer game modes will be available.

“The FIFA World Cup is going to be the cultural event of 2026, and now fans will be able to celebrate their fandom by bringing the game right into their living rooms,” adds Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix. “We want to bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”

Netflix confirmed that it will be playable on mobile devices as well as on "select TVs in certain countries." Like its other games, the title will be available for all Netflix subscribers for no extra charge.
