Ubisoft is just a couple of months away from launching Anno 117: Pax Romana, the next entry in its hit city-building and management franchise. Ahead of that, the company is giving fans a chance to try out the game, and unlike the recent beta, it"s open to everyone. This is a brand-new demo that"s available to PC players for the next two weeks.
The Anno 117: Pax Romana demo is available from September 2 through September 16. It is now live across Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect platforms. However, the demo does use a time limit to stop players from advancing too far into the game, offering just enough gameplay to experience the first two population tiers in Latium and Albion in Sandbox Mode.
As for the time limit, every save game that players begin will only offer one hour of play. Players can restart with new saves as much as they want before September 16 comes around though.
"You will be able to settle new island, do research and build all the buildings of the available population tiers," says Ubisoft, explaining the limitations. "While you can meet and interact with NPCs, you will not be able to declare and wage war. The demo also features only a limited selection of items to use in your villa and ships."
The difficulty and what NPCs will be present will be locked to one preset, with only the starting province being a custom option in this demo. Moreover, co-op and PVP play are not here, and saved games will also not carry over to the full game. As for good news, there isn"t an NDA, so any new information and footage from the demo can be shared freely this time.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is slated to hit Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on November 13, 2025. Ubisoft+ subscribers will also receive the title as a day-one drop.
