Another Skyrim port just landed from Bethesda, this time for Switch 2

Bethesda today announced and released another version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This edition is for the Switch 2, the latest handheld gaming console from Nintendo. This Anniversary Edition has been available on the original Switch since 2022, but the latest release is touting some extra features, especially on the performance side.

Like on other platforms, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition lands with the complete base game and the Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Hearthfire expansions. Aside from that, Bethesda is throwing in hundreds of items from the in-game Creation Club marketplace for no extra cost, which add new quests, weapons, armor, spells, dungeons, and more to the experience.

Compared to the Switch version, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on the Switch 2 touts enhanced resolution and DLSS anti-aliasing, improved load times, better performance, and even motion and mouse controls. At the same time, there are some Nintendo exclusive The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild items included in here too. Players will be able to find the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion"s Tunic spread across the lands as valuable treasures.

There is good news for owners of Skyrim on the original Switch 2. Anyone who has already purchased the full Anniversary Edition on Nintendo"s last console has now received a free upgrade on the Switch. Meanwhile, if it"s the base Skyrim that they owned, Bethesda is offering a $19.99 upgrade to the Switch 2 Anniversary Edition.
