Apple announces event for March 25

As has been rumored for some time, Apple will be holding an event on March 25, according to invitations sent out to the press today. With the headline, "It"s show time", it seems likely that the firm will be focusing on its upcoming streaming subscription service.

The invitation also includes the following animation:

It"s also likely that Apple will show off its upcoming news subscription service, which has been popularly referred to as "Netflix for news". But while Apple has been showing an increased focus on its services, it seems unlikely that it would have an event without new hardware.

New iPads seem likely, as Apple launched the last ones on March 27 last year. According to rumors, the company has a new full-size model and a new iPad Mini in tow. There"s also been talk of a new iPod Touch. For those that are unaware, Apple still sells the iPad Mini 4 and the sixth-generation iPod Touch, so they"re not dead products, but they have an A8 processor, the same that was used in the iPhone 6 four years ago.

The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino.

What are you hoping to see from the event? Let us know in the comments!
