Apple has released iOS 26.1 Beta 2 for supported iPhone models, and one of the noticeable changes in the new preview build is in the alarm user interface. The Cupertino giant has updated alarms, making it a bit harder to stop them when you"re trying to battle with your sleep in the morning.
You might be familiar with Apple"s popular "slide to unlock" feature on iPhone, which was removed several years ago. You can still take calls by sliding the call button on the screen. Apple has now added a "slide to stop" button on the lock screen for alarms.

In other words, you"ll have to manually slide a stop icon from left to right so that your iPhone can show some mercy in the morning. It"s meant to be a hurdle that prevents you from accidentally tapping the stop button when the alarm plays during your morning sleep, which otherwise would turn your alarm off entirely.
The iOS 26 update was released in September, introducing major visual changes and new features in the Phone app, Reminders app, and other places. Apple has also made improvements in the Alarms section; you can now choose the duration of snooze time, ranging from one minute to 15 minutes, depending on your preference.
The Snooze and Stop buttons on iOS 26 are big enough that you probably can"t miss them even while dreaming. However, these updated buttons are easier to press compared to iOS 18, where the stop button is placed at a distance from the snooze button and is very small.
The plus side is that it was harder to stop the alarm due to the button"s particularly small size. With the new slider in iOS 26.1 Beta 2, Apple is making up for the ease it added to the users" lives. It remains to be seen if this change trickles down to the stable build or if Apple figures out something else to make your alarms harder.
