Apple's FineWoven accessories aren't dead, launches new iPhone Wallet

It seemed that Apple had moved on from its past when the company launched a new collection of TechWoven iPhone accessories. However, that"s not entirely accurate, as the iPhone-maker has also introduced a limited collection of FineWoven accessories for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirTag.

Apple is selling a new iPhone FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe for $59 in five color options: Fox Orange, Navy, Midnight Purple, Moss, and Black. It is compatible with almost two dozen models, including the new iPhone 17 series and all the way back to the iPhone 12.

While people are still waiting for an upgraded AirTag, Apple has launched the $35 AirTag FineWoven Key Ring in the same five color options as the FineWoven Wallet. Apart from that, there are some Magnetic Link bands and Modern Buckles for Apple Watch.

It"s an unexpected move from Apple. Reports floated last year that Apple had halted production of FineWoven accessories due to user complaints about poor durability and performance issues. Apple removed FineWoven iPhone cases from its website months later, but continued to sell the FineWoven wallet and AirTag key ring.

Apple introduced FineWoven back in 2023 as an environmentally-friendly replacement to its leather-based accessories. The company tried to sell FineWoven as "a luxurious and durable microtwill made of 68 percent post-consumer recycled content that has significantly lower carbon emissions compared to leather."

The product line eventually met with a bad fate. However, it seems that Apple has made some changes behind the curtain this time. The marketing material for the iPhone FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe describes it as "made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled content and significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to leather."

If you"re still skeptical about FineWoven, there is no Apple-branded wallet alternative. However, Apple launched the new TechWoven case to go with the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max. The company also has a new MagSafe-compatible Clear Case and Silicone Case for the regular iPhone 17, and the iPhone Air Case for its thinnest smartphone.
