Embark Studios announced its 2026 plans for ARC Raiders in January, and so far, it is sticking to that plan quite well. The extraction shooter is about to get its second content update of the year, and that means brand-new ARC to fight alongside a major map condition and more.
While many expected this to be a single robot incursion, the developer confirmed today that two new ARC units are coming in to harass players with the Shrouded Sky update tomorrow, February 24.
From the duo, the Firefly is described as a "floating nightmare," thanks to its armored nature and attached flamethrowers for cooking up anything in its way. The armor will make it a tough foe to fight in a panic, especially if being swarmed with other ARC types. As always, the white, unarmored parts of the robot will be the best places to shoot to knock it out quickly.
Next, the Comet will be rolling towards players much like a Fireball or Pop, but this one"s ability is described as a "seismic boom" explosion. Comets will also be found outdoors, unlike most other rolling machines. It certainly sounds like stunning players will be its method of attack.
Meanwhile, setting the snow aside, it"s time for the land above to get hit with hurricanes for the next few months.
"As a Hurricane hits the Rust Belt, Raiders face new challenges to their looting and shooting," says Embark, describing the dangerous new map condition. "The wind will batter you, debris will light up your shield while degrading its protection, and visibility will scatter your sense of direction - but it might just be worth it for those First Wave Raider Caches that have been unearthed along the surface."
Of course, a new map condition means a brand-new project is available for players to complete in ARC Raiders too. This will be a Weather Monitor System for Shani. Players can collect specific loot and contribute towards this project for fresh rewards. Moreover, there"s a new Raider Deck to complete, fresh facial hair options, and a map update to Dam Battlegrounds with new loot areas that will be landing as free content with this update too.
