Facebook has started testing dark mode for its Android app

Facebook is planning on enabling Dark Mode for its Android - and presumably iOS - app soon. Social media savant Jane Manchun Wong recently discovered the makings of a dark mode feature in Facebook"s Android app.

However, she notes that the feature is still very early in the stages of development. Indeed, she was only able to find it by rummaging through the app"s code. The screenshots she shared show the app featuring black text on a dark background, and the application of the dark background is also rather haphazard at the moment, with a hodgepodge of black and white space.

As another image shows, only the Groups tab so far features a largely dark mode-worthy appearance. It"s unclear at the moment as to when the social networking giant will be finished with implementing the feature on its app. It did, however, enable dark mode for all users of its Messenger app earlier this year, if you"d like to see a sampling of what the end product will likely look like.
