Google"s interactive voice chat mode, Gemini Live, has got some new updates this week, following the launch of some new Pixel devices at the Made by Google event.
Gemini Live for Workspace users now integrates with multiple Google apps and services, including Calendar, Tasks, and Keep. You can refer to these services during your two-way conversation with the Gemini chatbot.
In other words, you can ask Gemini Live about what meetings are on your calendar over the week or the scheduled time for a particular meeting. You can ask it about your overdue tasks or about specific content and notes in Google Keep.
Gemini Live can also add, modify, or delete entries in Calendar, Tasks, and Keep. For instance, you can scan written text to create a Google Keep note or point your camera at an invitation to create a Google Calendar entry.
For the uninitiated, Gemini Live was announced last year during the launch of the Pixel 9 series and made its way to Pixel and other non-Google Android phones. It was made available for free to all Android and iOS users in the following months, and earlier this year, it was released for different Workspace tiers.
A few highlights of the feature are that you can interrupt the chatbot while it"s responding and add information. You can also share your screen or camera feed for real-time responses on specific things. Gemini Live was rolled out to Android Auto earlier this year and will soon make its way to Google"s lineup of smart speakers and displays.
The new Gemini Live integration with Google apps is rolling out to multiple Workspace tiers and users who purchased Gemini add-ons. Google notes that Workspace admins have no control over this feature. It"s available by default if access to the Gemini app is turned on. Make sure that Google Workspace apps (previously known as extensions) are turned on for the integration to work.
