Google highlighted in its blog post that its offering is superior to others, since ‘Gemini for Government’ is a complete AI platform. It comes with Google-quality enterprise search, video and image generation capabilities, the NotebookLM AI tool, out-of-the-box AI agents for Deep Research and Idea Generation, and the ability for employees to create their own AI agents. This offering also includes FedRAMP High-authorized security and compliance features.

Earlier this year, the GSA negotiated with Google to lower the costs of the Google Workspace bundle for government agencies. Under the agreement, Google is now offering the Google Workspace Enterprise Plus and Assured Controls Plus bundle to federal agencies at a temporary price reduction of 71% off the current Multiple Award Schedules Program (MAS IT) pricing.

Josh Gruenbaum, Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner, said:

GSA appreciates Google’s partnership and we’re excited to add the comprehensive ‘Gemini for Government’ AI solution to OneGov,” said Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum. “GSA is delivering on the President’s AI Action Plan and helping agencies access powerful American AI tools to optimize daily workflows and create a more efficient, responsive, and effective government for American taxpayers. Critically, this offering will provide partner agencies with vital flexibility in GSA’s marketplace, ensuring they have the options needed to sustain a strong and resilient procurement ecosystem.

This aggressive pricing boosts Google’s chances of winning government AI contracts and quickly growing its market share in the sector.
