Halo: MCC Insider test brings Combat Evolved visual enhancements and more

Over this weekend, 343 Industries is hosting another one of its Halo: The Master Chief Collection Insider sessions, and, as usual, it"s an interesting set of features being tested. With Season 7 on the horizon, the studio is testing the new customization content, plus upgrades to Halo: Combat Evolved, further changes to the incoming Halo Online maps, and more.

Starting off, the latest graphics improvements to Combat Evolved aims to bring its divisive Classic mode visuals from the PC port back to the levels of the original Xbox release. This involves changes to both the campaign and multiplayer, with the studio altering shaders, effects, character models, and other areas. We will probably get to see these enhancements in more detail when the changes are ready to be pushed to the public.

The two Halo Online maps, Waterfall and Edge, that the studio has been porting over to Halo 3 have gotten another polishing pass, and it is looking for feedback on the latest changes. The much-requested Elite armor customization, as well as Energy Sword colors, armor effects, and more from Season 7 are being offered for Insiders to try out too.

This latest Halo: The Master Chief Collection Insider flight will last until Monday May 24 at 10am PT, and players from both Xbox and PC platforms are invited. Those who have signed up to the Halo Insider program may want to check their emails or HaloWaypoint messages to find out if they got access to the latest build.
