Here are the updated known issues with Windows 10 build 14931, also known as Redstone 2

Yesterday Microsoft rolled out the first Windows 10 Redstone 2 build 14931 over the Slow ring for Windows Insiders, as you may know, the Slow ring is one that Insiders can opt into for the more stable builds that Microsoft has identified to contain less issues than those that get rolled out to the Fast ring, as such, not every build makes it to the more "stable" channel.

Aside from making the ISOs also available last night, Microsoft has now also posted an updated known issues to the Feedback hub, which include two issues that have already been crossed out as they got fixed between being made available to the Fast ring and yesterday"s release to the Slow ring, they are:

  • While using Narrator and Groove Music, if you navigate to the progress bar while a song is playing then Narrator will continually speak the progress of the song e.g. update with the current time of the progress bar every second. The result is you will be unable to listen to the song or hear any other control you navigate to.
  • Oracle VM VirtualBox will crash on launch after upgrading to this build.
  • Optional components may not work after upgrading to this build. To get it working again, go to “Turn Windows features on or off”, scroll down and check the right optional component and click ok. After a reboot, the optional component will be enabled again.
  • For keyboard users, using tab to navigate the Settings app will not work in this build. The arrow keys should work as a temporary workaround.
  • Tencent apps and games will cause your PC to bugcheck (bluescreen).

It"s always worth checking the known issues before installing a build. For example, if you use Oracle"s VirtualBox, you might want to skip this one, you can also opt out of receiving Redstone 2 with our guide. Microsoft will also be releasing a new SDK for build 14931 "shortly", along with a new Windows 10 Insider Preview for IoT devices.
