Jurassic World Evolution 3 introduces Island Generator and enhanced PS5 Pro visuals

Frontier Developments has unveiled a new feature for Jurassic World Evolution 3 that expands players’ creative possibilities. The Island Generator, accessible through Sandbox Mode, enables players to create an unlimited number of custom island layouts by adjusting settings that control the shape, terrain, trees, water, and mountains, offering extensive freedom in how each park is created.

Each generated island will include a unique Island DNA code, which players can share to let others recreate their designs, as well as access other players’ islands. Furthermore, players will be able to upload their parks to the Frontier Workshop, expanding the community aspect of the game. The addition of Monorails and Hyperloop transport systems will also allow players to connect and expand their parks across smaller islands generated away from the main landmass, allowing for more complex and creative layouts.

Talking about the latest feature, Game Director Andy Fletcher stated:

We are so excited to bring the Island Generator to Jurassic World Evolution 3. This is a feature we have wanted to realise for a long time now, and with the incredible new environmental tools we’ve developed for JWE3, we are finally able to do it justice.

Beyond its expanded creative tools, Jurassic World Evolution 3 also introduces graphical improvements, leveraging the power of PlayStation 5 Pro to deliver a more immersive experience. The game features PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) for sharper image clarity and Ray Traced Sun Shadows for more realistic lighting and shadow behaviour. With ray tracing enabled, shadows from foliage and dinosaurs appear softer and more natural, adding depth and contrast to the environment.

The inclusion of Ray Traced Sun Shadows is made possible by the PS5 Pro’s upgraded GPU and Advanced Ray Tracing. This also marks the first time the feature has appeared in the Jurassic World Evolution series.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches on 21 October.
