Larian's Divinity: Original Sin 2 now playable natively on current-gen consoles

Baldur"s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has turned its attention to its previous role-playing game hit, right as it announced a brand-new installment to the classic series. Today, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has been released on the latest generation consoles, letting Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 players jump into native versions.

"The plot thinnens. With a 93 Metacritic score, the award-winning Divinity: Original Sin 2 is now yours to play on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5," announced the developer earlier today.

Larian has not gone into any details on what kind of upgrades players will be able to see on these new versions of the game, but the Xbox store page does mention 60 frames per second gameplay. The Xbox One version was capped at 30 FPS. PlayStation 5 Pro optimizations are also present, but once again, no exact details have been released about this.

The new versions of this hit RPG arrive just a few days after Larian unveiled the next entry into the series. Divinity is slated to be the biggest game the studio has ever made, aiming to even surpass Baldur"s Gate 3. The
