Logitech announces MX Master 4 with improved design and haptics

Logitech has officially announced the MX Master 4, its new productivity-focused flagship mouse. The successor to the MX Master 3S features improved design, haptic feedback, better materials, improved repairability, and other tweaks.

The MX Master 4 keeps its familiar design, but the new model has a few tweaks. The mouse uses new materials with fewer rubberized parts to improve longevity and reduce wearout. Main buttons are now made of transparent plastic, and the horizontal scroll wheel has more area for your thumb. Logitech also redesigned the mouse"s screws, which are no longer hidden under the glides. This makes it easier to disassemble the MX Master 4 for repair.

One of the biggest changes in the MX Master 4 is the haptic feedback. The mouse now vibrates in the thumb area, giving you physical cues about various actions, such as changing settings, cursor adjustments, launching apps, or doing something else. Like the other features, vibration will be customizable in the Logitech Options+ app.

The thumb area also houses a new Actions Ring control. Pressing the button brings an on-screen overlay with programmable actions for each app, giving you quick access to various commands and app-specific features.

Logitech also equipped the mouse with a high-performance wireless chip and an optimized antenna to improve the connection and signal reception strength. Besides, the bundled Logi Bolt receiver (not included with the Mac version of the MX Master 4) is now smaller, thanks to using a USB-C connector instead of USB-A.

Other than that, the MX Master 4 is the same productivity mouse with the signature MagSpeed scroll wheel, an 8K DPI sensor, quiet clicks (same switches as in the MX Master 3S), quick charging (a USB cable is no longer included), and multi-device pairing with three built-in profiles for Bluetooth and Bolt. As for battery life, Logitech promises 70 days of power on a full charge and three hours of use from just a one-minute quick charge.

The MX Master 4 is now available for purchase for $119.99.
