Looks like Silent Hill 2 remake is finally coming to Xbox

Just over a year ago, Konami and Bloober Team together brought out a remake of the iconic horror classic Silent Hill 2. The title went on to be critically acclaimed, winning multiple awards and selling over two million copies within a year across PC and PlayStation. However, the Silent Hill 2 remake has been missing from one platform all this time, with Xbox fans never receiving the experience. However, it looks like the PlayStation console"s timed exclusivity period has finally run out.

While no official announcements have been made yet, the remake"s ESRB page has suddenly received an Xbox rating. Spotted by Insider Gaming, the rating website had been updated on October 31 with the new Xbox Series certification page. The rest of the information and the original Mature 17+ rating remain the same as the original two platforms.

For those that may not be familiar with the material, Silent Hill 2 follows James Sunderland, a widower who"s drawn into the fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill to somehow find his deceased wife. The city is full of monstrous entities and other lost souls that James must confront. Neowin"s own Robbie Khan reviewed the game last year, finding it faithful to the original but with more than a few performance issues. Read it in full over here.

While not always accurate, ESRB ratings have leaked plenty of game announcements and port reveals in the past. Unfortunately, there isn"t any more information on the page about this possible Xbox edition, like a release window.

If the page is accurate, Microsoft and Konami may announce the port soon to match all the Halloween celebrations. As always, though, wait until something official comes out of any of these companies before taking this port report as a confirmation for an Xbox Series X|S release for the Silent Hill 2 remake.
