Xbox Insiders can now try the new startup sequence, tiered Gamerscore badges, and more

Microsoft's latest Xbox Insider update is rolling out to select testers, bringing features like the new green bootup sequence and library filters.

Xbox Insiders have new features coming their way as part of the latest update Microsoft is testing on its consoles. This carries changes like the previously teased startup sequence with the new logo, new tiered badges for Gamerscore, and better game library filters.

The new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma announced earlier this month that Xbox Series X|S owners will soon start seeing a brand-new animation and sound greeting them when booting up their consoles. Xbox Insiders with the new update can see it firsthand now ahead of a full public rollout. The animation shows off the recently updated Xbox logo that brings back the brand's classic green alongside a slightly changed sound effect.

Next, player lifetime Gamerscore is now shown off with a tiered badge that starts from 1K and goes all the way to 10 million. Catch a glimpse of how this will look below as the number grows. Microsoft is keeping the 10 million Gamerscore badge under wraps for now, it seems. The badges appear on player profiles and on the Guide menu, offering quick looks at achievement progress across the account.

The final major feature of this Insider release is updating the filters that players can use to navigate their library.

"Quickly see what you can play and why. New filters make it easy to separate games you own from those shared with you and identify installed titles you no longer have access to," explained Xbox Senior Product Manager Alex Charters today. "Whether you’re switching devices or jumping between consoles, it’s now clearer what’s in your library and what’s actually playable."

This Xbox Insider update is rolling out today to select members of the program. As usual, Microsoft aims to bring it to more Insiders over time before they reach all Xbox owners. Head over here to find out how to join the Xbox Insider Program to get a chance to test these features and upcoming ones on both consoles and PC.
