Windows Phone 8 owners were hit with the news earlier today that Microsoft had released a new official YouTube app for the OS with lots of new features, and last week Microsoft launched a beta program for a revamped Windows Phone 8 Facebook app. But what about all those owners of smartphones that still run on Windows Phone 7?
Windows Phone head Joe Belfiore posted word today on his Twitter page reminding users that Microsoft hasn"t forgotten about the previous Windows Phone version that"s not compatible with Windows Phone 8 apps with the following tweet:
#WP7 users: don"t miss the fact that new #Youtube is coming to WP7. FB (beta) will be coming to WP7 too, a bit later. Some others too.

The "some others too" statement hopefully means that Windows Phone 7 users might get their own versions of the newly launched Hulu Plus WP8 app, along with the new version of the Foursquare app. Even though Windows Phone 8 devices seem to be doing far better in terms of sales than WP7 smartphones, it"s a good sign that Microsoft is trying to keep as many Windows Phone users happy, regardless of what version of the OS they"re using.
