Microsoft Teams is getting a bunch of useful features very soon

Microsoft Teams is a solid piece of software that is essential in many enterprise and work environments, especially where Redmond"s tech stack is being heavily utilized. Microsoft frequently adds new features to this online communication and collaboration software, ensuring that it continues to meet the demands of users. Now, the company has teased what"s next for Teams.

In several recent updates to its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond tech giant has revealed what it"s planning for Teams. For starters, Teams will finally begin honoring the Do Not Disturb (DND) setting already implemented in Windows. What this means is that if you have enabled DND on Windows, Teams notifications will be paused as well. They"ll resume as soon as you toggle off DND. This will make the experience a lot more consistent and intuitive for Windows users.

Next, admins will also be able to utilize the Microsoft 365 Admin Agent directly inside the Teams interface to perform tasks such as adding users, assigning licenses, and providing guidance on organizational settings, password resets, and security configurations.

Additionally, Microsoft is getting rid of manual spoken language selection in live captions and transcripts. This applies to both Interpreter and multilingual speech recognition. Instead, spoken language detection will be automatic, which should make the experience a lot cleaner for Teams customers.

In the same vein, Interpreter will soon support your organization"s Custom Dictionary and Traditional Chinese. It will also offer more accurate real-time interpretation of speech and better recognize the names of people and industry-specific terms.

Finally, those who leverage intelligent meeting recaps will be pleased to know that apart from generating textual recaps, this feature will also deliver video-based recaps. These will provide video highlights, which should be great in understanding important takeaways from the meeting.

The good news is that all of the features mentioned above are landing next month, so users don"t have to wait too long.
