Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 sneaks onto the Playstation 3

Back in 2006 Tecmo announced that it would bring the Ninja Gaiden franchise to the Playstation 3, in July 2007 the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma was released as a port of the original Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox. Updated with better visuals that come from porting up to a new generation of console along with some extras not present in the first release it was billed as a more complete version of the first game.

Now after the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 for the Xbox 360 last year news has been revealed from the March edition of Famitsu that the Playstation 3 will be getting Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, a port and update of the Xbox 360 version.

Details so far have been slim, but from translations of the magazine it has been reported to be coming with a few extras like the first Sigma.

A new character, Ayane, will be playable in the update. She is a character first created for the Dead or Alive fighting series also made by Tecmo, one would assume she will be as playable as Rachel was in the first Sigma, and you will have the chance to play her during certain missions and chapters.

The port will also bring a new weapon, Genma, which is seen to be a spiked hammer. It will also contain a new "Giant Boss Battles" that were not in the Xbox 360 release.

A vague release date has also been shown to be that of Autumn 2009, brining another title to what is sure to be a packed season for games.
