Nokia's first smartphone with a notch officially unveiled in China

At an event held in China, HMD has taken the wraps off the Nokia X6, which is the company"s first smartphone that embraces the display notch trend.

The Nokia X6, earlier rumored to be called Nokia X is a mid-range smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 636 chipset and will be offered in three variants based on RAM and storage configurations. Most of what we already knew about the device from a past leak has also become official. However, the rumored MediaTek variant didn"t make an appearance at the event.

The rest of the hardware specifications of the device include a 5.8-inch screen with a screen resolution of 2280x1080 with a 19:9 aspect ratio, a dual-camera setup at the back comprised of 16-and 5-megapixel sensors, a 16 megapixel front-facing camera, microSD expansion slot, 3,060 mAh battery, USB type C port, and 4G LTE.

The device is priced at CNY 1299 ($204) for the base variant featuring 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the 64GB variant with 4GB RAM will be available for CNY 1499 ($235), while the top variant powered by 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage will sell for CNY 1699 ($266).

Depending on the selected model, buyers can visit the online stores of JD.com, Tmall or Suning to purchase the Nokia X6. Currently, there is no word on global availability of the smartphone.
