Oculus Rift gets a brief price drop to $379 until Wednesday

If you"ve been saving up your hard earned cash to get into virtual reality, now is probably the best time to do it. Oculus has cut $20 from the regular $399 Oculus Rift, making it $379 just in time for holiday shopping. It"s a good deal, but not quite as good as Black Friday when it dropped to $350.

The sale is good at the official Oculus site, as well as through Best Buy, Amazon, and Newegg. For the price, you will get:

  • Two touch controllers
  • Integrated 360° spatial audio
  • Two sensors, although a third is recommended - for an additional cost - to "unlock full room-scale potential"
  • A package of six games: Quill, Lucky"s Tale, Robo Recall, Dead and Buried, Medium, and Toybox.

The promotion will run until Wednesday, December 20, but the company is also offering an extended Winter Sale on software through 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT on January 2. Up to 250 titles are on sale, with three different seven-game bundles - depending on your taste - starting around $89.99 each. It is also running daily deals, so you"ll need to check back each day to see what is on sale.
