Oculus Rift gets permanent price drop to $399

It hasn't even been two years since the release of the Oculus Rift, but it appears that the competition is becoming more fierce, requiring the firm to announce a permanent price drop to $399.

The competition in the VR space has been heating up lately, with Oculus, Sony, and HTC all discounting their respective VR products in order to lure curious and potential customers. Although the Oculus Rift was previously discounted, at its annual Oculus Connect, the firm has announced that the device will get a permanent price cut.

During the first day of Oculus Connect 4, the firm started off things with a bang by announcing that its VR headset bundle with Touch controllers would receive a permanent discount to $399. This is quite a big discount in less than two years, as the Rift originally debuted at $599, and that was without Touch controllers.

Those that are interested can purchase the new bundle, which will include the Rift VR headset and the Touch controllers. As part of the bundle, you will get access to seven free games that include Lucky's Tale, Medium, Toybox, Quill, Dead and Buried, Dragon Front, and Robo Recall.
