Paradox Interactive establishes new studio in Barcelona for grand strategy games

Paradox Interactive is now operating seven game development studios around the world, with the company today announcing Paradox Tinto as the latest addition. Situated in Barcelona, Spain, the new studio will be headed by Johan Andersson, a Paradox veteran with over 25 years of experience, who is also responsible for creating the Europa Universalis series.

The company said Andersson will be hiring a small team to manage Europa Universalis IV"s development at first, but will move on to create new grand strategy games in the future. Those interested in applying for a position, in Tinto or another Paradox studio, can head over to the jobs portal on the company"s website.

"The success of our studios over the last few years has allowed us to continually add more capabilities and new ideas, with more games going into active development and more ambitious plans every day," said Charlotta Nilsson, Paradox Interactive COO. "We currently have around 70 open positions across our seven studios, with plans to recruit roughly 200 people in 2020 alone."

The Tinto studio in Barcelona joins other Paradox development teams that are situated in Sweden, The Netherlands, and The United States. Internally, the company is currently announced to be working on Crusader Kings III as well as expansions for its other games. It is also handling the publishing duties of the upcoming titles Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 and Empire of Sin.
