PokéCall transforms your iPhone's incoming call screen to resemble a Pokémon battle

If you"re a fan of Pokémon, this upcoming modification for your iPhone might become a must-have. The altered incoming call screen was created by developer FrozenPenguinToaster and will be available to those that choose to jailbreak or already have jailbroken their devices.

PokéCall, which is still currently in development, transforms your standard iOS incoming call screen into something that looks like it was ripped straight from a Game Boy Pokémon game. When a call comes in, the screen will flash, the iconic background music will play, and you"ll be challenged to battle with a trainer. Since this is just an incoming call screen, you won"t actually be able to engage in a fight, but the screen will give you the option to "fight" which will answer the call, or "run", which will hang up the call.

As mentioned before this is still in development, but it looks like good things are being implemented like customizing the trainer"s appearance to appoint them to specific contacts and there will even be an option to choose what kind of Pokémon will be sent into battle. Naturally, more refinement will be necessary, as in its current state, there is a several second delay before the fight and run buttons appear on the screen.

It will be interesting to see where this goes but for those that have a jailbroken iPhone, this could be a fun little option to have to differentiate yourself from the rest.
