Samsung's Galaxy S8 goes shark diving with T-Mobile's latest underwater unboxing

Last year, product expert Des and the T-Mobile team took Samsung"s Galaxy S7 underwater at a pool to offer a unique unboxing experience. This year it decided to up the ante by taking the newly announced Galaxy S8 to the ocean and unboxing it in a pool of sharks.

In the unboxing video down below you can see that the handset arrives in a traditional black box similar to what we saw with last year"s Galaxy releases. Inside, it will come with a charger and USB Type-C cable that is now offered in a black colorway. This is different than a lot of Samsung"s previous devices that came with a standard white charging block and cable. The device also comes with a pair of earbuds that are made by AKG and last but not least, the Galaxy S8 itself.

Although the device can clearly survive a dip in the ocean with a few sharks thanks to its IP68 water resistance, salt water is probably not the best-recommended environment.

For those interested, you can now pre-order the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ from T-Mobile and other US carriers. Those that pre-order will get a free Gear VR with Controller that was announced at Mobile World Congress last month. Samsung has stated that they will offer an initial run of 20 million units.
