Sony Xperia Z3 finally gets a taste of Lollipop on T-Mobile

Almost eight months after Google first announced Android 5.0 Lollipop, and nearly three months after Sony made the update available for its Xperia Z3, the high-end handset is finally getting a taste of Lollipop on T-Mobile US.

In the time it"s taken for the update to land on T-Mo"s Z3, the handset"s successor, the Xperia Z3+, has been unveiled, and Google has launched a Developer Preview of the next version of Android.

Still, given that the carrier had hinted that it might be several more months until Lollipop actually arrived for its Xperia Z3, the wait could have been a lot longer.

The update also includes a rather nice bonus - along with the improvements to the Android OS itself, the new firmware will also enable Band 12 LTE on the device, enabling users to enjoy faster data connection speeds on T-Mobile"s network.

As with all update rollouts, this one might take a bit of time to reach every single handset, so if it isn"t available immediately for yours, don"t panic just yet.
