Super Mario Run is coming to Android on March 23, three months after its iOS launch

More than six months have passed since Nintendo announced Super Mario Run, bringing the world"s most popular plumber to mobile devices. The game was revealed as an exclusive for iOS, but Nintendo promised that it would eventually make its way to Android devices, although it wasn"t until January that it said the Android launch would come in March.

Super Mario Run was released on iOS on December 15, and it didn"t take long to zoom to the top of the App Store charts. Now, Nintendo has finally revealed an exact launch date for the Android version.

Super Mario Run will be available to download from the Google Play store on March 23, coinciding with the release of the game"s version 2.0.0 update. That update will also be coming to iOS, and will include new playable characters. However, Nintendo made it clear in December that it has no plans to add new levels to the game.

Android users can continue to pre-register for Super Mario Run on the Google Play store, just as they"ve been able to do since December.
