The Fossil Gen 5 Smartwatch can now answer calls from an iPhone

A few months ago when Fossil announced its Gen 5 Smartwatch, it promised the ability to answer calls from your iPhone. Now, that feature is available with the latest update, making it the first Wear OS device with iPhone call compatibility.

That also turns it into a real competitor to the Apple Watch, without locking you into the Apple ecosystem. Wear OS devices have their own Google Play Store, so you can get the same apps when tethered to an iPhone instead of an Android phone. And with the ability to receive calls and talk with the built-in microphone and speaker, there isn"t much functionality missing anymore.

The Fossil Gen 5 Smartwatch is one of the more stylish Wear OS options on the market, and it"s one of few to include Qualcomm"s new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and 1GB RAM. It also has a 1.28-inch AMOLED display and a stainless steel chassis.

It works with iOS 10 or higher, so as long as you have a modern iPhone, you should be able to answer your next call from the Gen 5 Smartwatch. The Gen 5 Smartwatch goes for $295, and if you want to check it out, you can use our affiliate link to pick one up on Amazon.
