Apple-owned Beats by Dre is about to launch its special edition in-ear wireless earbuds in partnership with Nike. These are a co-branded version of last year"s sports-focused PowerBeats Pro 2. The announcement came just a day after Apple unveiled the AirPods Max 2 after years of waiting.
One thing that immediately sets them apart from the vanilla version is that the Nike Powerbeats Pro 2 feature different logos on each earbud. The left earbud has the "b" logo for Beats, and the right one has the iconic Nike Swoosh.
Their dual-tone design combines Nike"s "Volt" color with matte black on both earbuds. The same goes for the charging case, which has a vibrant Volt splatter pattern and Nike"s "JUST DO IT" tagline printed inside.
Popular basketball player LeBron James and professional golfer Tom Kim starred in a new ad film created by Nike and Beats for the special-edition earbuds. James, who has been a Nike ambassador for years, is seen using the earbuds to block out unsolicited gold advice.
"I’ve been part of the Beats journey since day one with the original Powerbeats, and the Powerbeats Pro 2 represent everything I need in my daily routine, whether I’m training, recovering or just living life. These aren’t just my go-to earbuds — they’re built for anyone who refuses to compromise on performance,” the NBA star said in a statement.
Apart from the branding, the special-edition wireless earbuds have the same tech specs as the regular PowerBeats Pro 2. They feature the secure-fit wraparound earhooks, active noise cancellation, and transparency mode. PowerBeats Pro 2 are the first Apple-made wireless earbuds to feature heart rate monitoring, before the tech made its way to the AirPods Pro 3.
The in-ear wireless earbuds are powered by the Apple H2 chip, are rated IPX4 for sweat and water resistance, support Find My, and offer a combined battery life of 45 hours. Priced at $249.99, the Nike PowerBeats Pro 2 are set to launch globally on March 20 (9 am PT).
They will be available for purchase on Apple.com in the US, UK, China, Japan, Germany, Canada, Australia, Singapore, France, Spain, India, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong. In addition, the earbuds will be up for sale on Nike.com and select Apple Stores in the US, UK, China, and Singapore.
