Vodafone Australia builds ‘Android Man', takes him out and about

In preparation for the launch of HTC’s Desire HD handset, Vodafone Australia has been doing a little pro-Android marketing. The carrier, which holds the exclusive launch rights to the Desire HD in Australia, has a life-size Android Robot (dubbed the ‘Vodafone Android Man’) walking around Sydney, posing for photos and raising awareness for the fast-growing platform.

If you’re in Sydney, or going to be in Sydney over the next few days, grab a photo with the Vodafone Android Man, post it on their Facebook page, and you’ll go into the drawing to win one of 12 Android-powered handsets (only one is a Desire HD, sorry guys) and the chance to win one of 30 double passes to Vodafone’s “Android Island Party” – which to my understanding, is some kind of Android Island Party.

Oh, and did I mention that there’s a giant Vodafone Android Man near the Opera House?
