After a long wait, Insiders running the Windows 10 Mobile Preview will finally get a new build, 10536. Microsoft"s Gabe Aul reached out to the community via Twitter to take a vote on a Store-related bug. According to Aul, "Under memory pressure, app purchases or IAP [in-app purchases] will cause the Store to crash. It"s about 28.8% of the time in our telemetry."
The current build, 10512, was a major improvement over the previous release, but had some nasty bugs such as broken "Quiet Hours" and mobile hotspot functionality, as well as a broken lock screen for some users.
The new build will features fixes for all the of the items above. Additionally, users will be able to upgrade directly to 10536 from Windows Phone 8.1, rather than having to install an older Insider Preview before upgrading to the most current release. Gabe Aul even teased the inclusion of a fix for the mobile hotspot feature in a tweet shortly after starting the vote.
Speaking of the vote, you can see the results here. The votes sided overwhelmingly for a new build this Friday taking nearly 90% of the pie, while the remaining percentage said they would rather wait till Tuesday of next week.
While we aren"t sure if other new features may be joining these bug fixes - bear in mind that Microsoft has said the OS is more or less feature-complete - we won"t have to wait long as Microsoft"s team is already prepping for release tomorrow.
