You can now pre-order the Lumia 735 and 830 in the UK

While Microsoft carries on rolling out Windows Phone handsets under the Nokia branding, it won’t be long before the Nokia moniker is dropped in favor of the Microsoft name. However, until that happens, Nokia Lumia handsets will continue to be refreshed with newer hardware and Windows Phone 8.1.

The Lumia 735, or "selfie" phone

Today is no different, with pre-orders of the Lumia 735, or “selfie” phone, and Lumia 830, the “affordable flagship” starting today, with October 2nd being given as the delivery date.

As expected, both devices come shipped with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 (or Lumia Denim as it’s known). But what else can these phone offer, compared to the other Lumia handsets? For that, we’ve put together a quick table comparing some of the specs of the two devices, along with the recent Lumia 930.

There’s not a lot to choose between the 735 and the 830. However, the one thing that makes the 735 stand out is the front facing camera. At 5MP, it’s easily one of the best front facing cameras on any phone, right now. Couple that with Nokia’s ability to provide stellar image quality, you could be onto a winner in the selfie department. And let’s be honest, we’re now very much part of a selfie generation and there are some people who will want better quality selfies.

The "affordable flagship," Lumia 830

Design wise, the 735 echoes the original 810, 910 and 920. The 830 looks to be a mashup between the 920 and the 930. An added bonus of swappable covers on the 735 and 830 gives you that little bit more freedom when it comes to choosing colors; as long as it’s green, orange, black or white mind you.

Overall, both the 735 and the 830 are sound devices. While the 930 is more powerful, contains more onboard storage and packs more MP in the camera department, those features will come at a price (£100 more on Clove and £130 on Unlocked Mobiles). The Lumia range is known for providing an affordable handset, but still pack as many features as the Android equivalent.

You can place your pre-order for both devices from Unlocked Mobiles (735 and 830) or Clove (735 and 830), and as already mentioned, you can expect to have either delivered on October 2nd.
