My desktop has been throwing fits randomly. Sometimes it suddenly reboots even at idle, or would just plain display a BSoD after a cold boot. I don't have any spare parts to pinpoint hardware-related problems. I'm not sure if the cause would be overheating CPU, though I'm still monitoring its temps.

..... and the thing just had another BSoD at the time of writing.

That's generally a cooling issue with the graphics card. Is it seated firmly and screwed on tightly. My brothers fan likes to come unscrewed all by itself all the time. In fact, he's been having BSOD's lately again.

Blow the whole thing out real good, would be the next step, seeing as no spare parts.
