CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- A man faces a court hearing after police say he placed his 3-year-old son in a clothes dryer and turned it on as a punishment.

Guernsey County sheriff's deputies did not see any visible injuries on the child when the man was arrested after deputies went to a house in Cambridge to check on the child.

The Zanesville Times reports Thursday that 40-year-old Jamial Bayly has been charged with child endangerment and is scheduled for a video arraignment in Cambridge Municipal Court.

Sheriff Michael McCauley said Thursday that deputies went to the home Sunday after getting a tip from family members.

McCauley says the boy was released to his mother, who wasn't home at the time of the dryer incident.

Jamial was convicted in 1999 of domestic violence for assaulting a 5-year-old family member, deputies said.

I am telling you it is getting more and more frightening to be a parent in Ohio :p there are too many crazy stupid people here.

my god and i'm from this state.... bloody freaking hell. OH!

Wet laundry can sometimes weight more than a small child :/

While I agree in some sense...

If your laundry comes out that wet, you need to get a new washing machine :p Mine comes out wet, but I never load mine so much that it would come out dripping wet or weigh more than a child.

Hell, some clothes I put in come out near on dry anyway!

I'm mostly talking about when you wash your bed sheets etc, some of them are too thick for the washing machine to get all the water out so they can come out fairly heavy
