Wii U Firmware 3.0.1

Nintendo released what looks like a minor system update for the Wii U this week, and it's available to download now. Going by the patch notes, 3.0.1 U offers "further improvements to overall system stability and software compatibility."

We've downloaded the update and can't see any obvious changes. Maybe the Wii U just wanted to make itself heard over the clamor of a certain other box.

I had no clue the WiiU downloads updates in the background, or is that a new feature?

I went to do the daily challenge on Rayman last night, closed it out, and was prompted to install this new update. It installed right then and there.

That was a nice touch indeed.

I noticed exiting out from some apps are almost instantaneously goes back to the menu.

The Marketplace especially (compared from Update 3.0.0)

It also took less than 3 minutes to download and install.

my system didnt auto-download the update. is that somewhere you have to enable?
