didn't see this posted anywhere else so i though i'd post.. it's quite cool no need to mess up my IE6 anymore :)

Extract IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe to a temporary folder.
Working within' the extracted directory, delete the following:

update\
install.ins
spmsg.dll
spuninst.exe
spupdsvc.exe

Create a blank text file within' the directory and rename it to iexplore.exe.local.
Move the directory to a location in which you want to store the now standalone version of Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 (eg. My Documents).
Execute iexplore.exe.

edit: edited out the source, noticed it had WPA bypasses and stuff, don't wanto get neowin into trouble

Anything from IE3.0 to IE6.0 - standalone.

What does "Standalone" mean? I want to keep my IE6 and install IE7Beta paralell (i.e. to have both browsers running). Can I use this trick for that or is there any other solution? :(

Thanks:

Yes you are able to run IE6 as well as IE7

Do Note: Although when you do that with IE7 you should check help -> about. It displays the IE6 about dialog, so I think it still uses the IE6 rendering engine within the IE7 application...

As Th3-0n3 said earlier, he is right.
