What's next with MSN Messenger 6?

Recommended Posts

So everyone has seen the previous screenshots and most people will have downloaded and installed it and are playing about with it at the moment. But what is to come?

Thanks to Betaz we've discovered the exact things that will be uncovered in the Launch Site button. It seems they are only working for some at the moment but could be fully functional very soon. The most interesting of features is the File Sharing part. Users can now easily share files and the other users have the chance to download these or not.

For the games, we have Checkers coming soon as well as Solitaire Showdown, Bejeweled and Minesweeper Flags. The ones that work at the moment are Decision Wheel and Tic Tac Toe. Users can easily interact and play these games without having to worry about firewall problems. The games are stored on MSN servers and use ActiveX controls to function.

We look forward to using all these games in the up and coming MSN Messenger client but for now take a sneak peak at some of the games below.

I cant get it to install on Windows 2000 with service pack 2 I get this message.

"This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer Service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer Service"

Oh well have to wait till I get home.

Try Service Pack 3 (it's the latest version), with Sp4 on it's way.

And / Or, wait for the final version of MSN 6.0, not that any of us can mind you;)

na this is my work station @ work, in a call center. They don't mind if we install things but I doubt they would be happy if I updated the O.S. Makes me wonder Why they don't any ways???

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
    • My issue is I can't access the forum on mobile if the site is set to Desktop mode on Vivaldi because it can't complete the Cloud flare am I a bot check! I know this is a Vivaldi issues as it has started happening on all cloud flare check sites, it's so annoying, I've reported it but no fix yet.
