I remember a few years ago he stated that He had an iPhone that he used as a phone and an OG Droid that he used for everything else.

Now owning an iOS device and actually using one, versus only being an android user... Both def. have their plus and minus qualities.. But, I think both are great devices and enjoyable to use on a daily basis.

I will def. have to agree with the article tho, that iOS is def. simplified and easier to use, however... after coming from android, it does leave you wanting to press the menu button lol. I hope that Apple decides to incorporate more "advanced" features for menu options, like you see with the maps application (though that could be a google thing) and it's flip page menu styling.

I only decided to go with an iOS device, because I switched carriers and wanted to see what all the fuss was about... its up in the air still as to what I decide to go with next.

off topic.. I'll just say this.. I just installed MIUI ROM on my Galaxy S2 and it is by far as smooth if not smoother than iOS and it looks just stunning and minimalistic. Not to mention it comes with some absolutely beautiful themes to choose from.

The transitions between screens are so awesome and smooth it's fantastic. It takes so little to completely revamp how your Android looks and feels

thats actually pretty sweet!

No root required. I don't know where you got that idea from and yes it works with group passwords. Read the user guide I linked before.

There are five Cisco AnyConnects apps in the Market:

-Rooted AnyConnect
-Samsung (< Sep2011) AnyConnect
-Samsung AnyConnect
-HTC AnyConnect
-Lenovo AnyConnect

Only the first one would support my phone (Samsung Nexus S), and requires rooting :(

I have used Palm Garnet, Windows Phone 2002, 2003, 5, 6, 6.1, 6.5, Symbian 60v3, Droid 1.5, 2.2, 2.3, and 3 .... I prefer 2.3.4 Droid. I love the task manager (long press home key.) and the amazing availability of apps ... I would prefer standardized UI, and menus on ALL devices though.

You are right my friend. However, rooting that particular device is quiet easy. It takes 5 minutes. If you are comfortable with ADB it can be achieved.

I agree with this, but let's not forget that Steve is not a typical user. The majority of people don't want a phone they can "tinker" with. They want something that works reliably and with stability and consistency. I have NEVER gotten that from android. WP7 and IOS work flawlessly for me. for 3 years now i've been suffering with android, so much so that i've even rooted and installed Cyanogenmod 7 on it. So far, a better user experience coming from the stock sense ui from HTC but a far cry from the polished iOS and WP7 devices I've used. If you want to play with your phone all day and everyday to get every little thing to work... then Android is for you. If you want to set it up on day 1 and forget about it until you upgrade... forget about android.

By default in Android, long press on home key isn't task manager but list of recently opened apps, same as double-click on the Home button on my iPad 2.

I'm not saying you are wrong, as Motorola may have implemented this feature, I'm pointing it out in case others think this is default Android behaviour :)

Yeah that is why I alway recommend the iPhone for people that can't think for themselves.
Apparently you need to take a few lessons in understanding the context of what is being referred to.

What I was referring to was firmware updates, which are laughably poor when it comes to Android phones, or how do you like manufacturers dropping support for your phone 6 months into the life of it? I'm sure the fanboys will spin something "positive" from it like "You can always install a 3rd party firmware!1!1".

Sounds great and not at all retarded.

OK you need to take a lesson in common sense. Most users have no idea what firmware version they are runnin. The hardcoer users know what they are running. So let's evaluate something here with Android. I am a hardcore user. I had a Droid Incredible (Released in May 2010). That phone has had firmware upgrades all the way to Gingerbread. Then I had the Thunderbolt (Released March 2011) that phone will get ICS by end of Q1 (Hmm not bad). You see hardcore users buy the higher end phones at the time of release. They have nothing to worry about.

The fanboy's you speak of (like me) are capable of installing their own roms. That is not spinning anything. Why should I care what you have when I have something better? If I am running ICS on my Thunderbolt now, I'm better than you who if you have a Thunderbolt that doesn't.

Judge a phone by the way they treat their computers. They never run updates; never have security; never upgrade the hardware. They just use it because it WORKS!

You see firmware upgrades don't matter to the average user. Sounds great because ignorance is bliss. The overall market is filled with the common user and the minority of the smartphone market are smarter than you if they can run a Custom firmware. It's a Win-Win situation here.

Judge the OS by what it is capable of doing now. What does Android have that iOS doesn't; or even Windows Phone? Start making a list and you'll see what is better for the end user.

Glad to see Woz using Android. It is always a good idea to have an open mind about things, unlike so many on the internet today.
