I can't stand Alonso either, I think he is an arrogant asshat but I do think he is one of the strongest drivers on the grid, he has wrestled that pig of a Ferrari from the start of the season and is in contention for championship.

The only reason Vettel is up there is because of Adrian Neweys car, put him in a McLaren or Ferrari and see where he ends up.

the only reason alonso still has a shot is because, again, he has BY FAR and we go back to 1988 here(!!!) the most reliable car ever seen in a wdc challenge.....

thats a fact.

Yes, the only reason he is in with a chance of the championship is because the car is reliable..................seriously?

It's not good having reliability if the performance just isn't there, he has consistently been racking up points with the pig of a car which is only just now coming in to its own. How do you explain Vettels points then with his less reliable car, it just blows your nonsense out of the water.

no, of course the car is not only reliable but also super-quick. best allround car in 2012 for sure.

My Toyota is very reliable.. been running for over 10 years. I guess I should race it in F1 next year.

yes, and his good luck started with the penalty yesterday.... i bet everything that he would have prefered an normal not lucky race starting from p3.

if you want to say someone is lucky its alonso all year along....

Not really, it's evened itself out as the season has progressed.

Easy enough to sum up the top 3 teams:

Fastest car this season? McLaren.

Car I'd most want to be driving? Red Bull.

Best driver? Alonso.

Hamilton and Vettel should be fighting for the title, but with McLaren's lack of reliability, Vettel should have it wrapped up by now. It's testament to just how good a driver Alonso is that he's still got a very good shout of winning the WDC.

In the 25 years i've been closely following F1 i haven't seen a lucky ****** like Vettel.

2 idiot moves in the first part of the race. First bumping in to Senna, then hitting that foam sign.

His car was the only car on track retrimmed for race skipping the parc ferm?. He had 2 safetycars helping him for a total of 55 seconds and the only cars he had to pass stepped aside for the all mighty redbull car.

The only move he pulled off was the one on Button.

This kid doesn't deserve to be a champion. What the hell was he shouting over the radio when he hit that foam sign.... " he keeps braking all the time" .... offcourse he was .... he needs to keep his brakes up to temperature.

There were 3 real drivers for me in this race and that was Hamilton, Alonso and Raikkonen. Loved Kimi's response on the radio "Leave me alone, i know what to do".

i gotta agree with this,

and now after this weekend i can totally agree with the reasons for lewis going to mercedes, mclaren have really failed him this year! and i dont think they deserve to have him in there line up. i just hope the mercedes is a better car with lewis behind the wheel.

Pos Driver Points 1 Sebastian Vettel 255 2 Fernando Alonso 245 3 Kimi R?ikk?nen 198 4 Mark Webber 167 5 Lewis Hamilton 165 6 Jenson Button 153 7 Felipe Massa 95 8 Nico Rosberg 93

The season is over. Vettel just needs to score 15 points in Austin to win the WDC.

Sorry but your math is slightly off. If Vettel only gets 15 points out of the last 2 races but Alonso gets 50 (theres a max of 50 points still left for grabs for 2 1st place finishes) then Alonso would win.

The correct thing to say would be that Vettel needs to ourscore Alonso by 15 points or more in Austin to win the title.

And I found a really interesting tech piece on why Ferrari may struggle in qualifying in comparison to Red Bull and McLaren

Red Bull look unbeatable here. Unless reliability sets in, seb will be half way around the track with everyone else there to make noise by the time the race is done.

Ferrari severely hamper Massa to help Alonso. Complete desperation and the usual lack of class I have came to expect from the red team.

Cracking race for McLaren, Hamilton driver of the race as far as I'm concerned, Button didn't do too shabby out of it considering he started 12th and ended up 16th on first lap.

Vettel crying over the radio when things don't go his way as usual.

Great drive from Lewis, was astonished by Seb's little whinge over the radio though, it sounded to me as "HOW DARE HE OVERTAKE ME". Smug, arrogant little git.

vettel really was unlucky yesterday, but thats not the first race where you could lose time while lapping other cars.

very furious with what ferrari did with massa. he was clearly the faster guy this weekend but they are so desparate to cheat alonso to the wdc...

anyway: even if alonso wins in interlagos, which is highly unlikely, vettel will be able to finish in 4th place for sure.

    • Ummmm that is what is it supposed to do. Just turn if off in settings if you do not want it analyzing your open tabs. Chrome does the same thing with Gemini. Sarfari will do the samething after Apple's AI and even more so with the release of their 27 versions that is now powered by Googles LLM/ML models. Understanding why it is doing it and how it can help you vs jumping to some conspiracy theroy is a much better approach. As long as it can be turned off, all is good. Yes the default should be off but the a lot of people would never discover these features.
    • Just another reason (aside from many others) not to use Edge. Firefox 153.0b5 DEx64 has a similar feature added recently in prior builds that I will turn off at some point when I get around to it. It's the new "Something looks suspicious" page that pops up here and there. It cleverly hides itself between web pages that I've actually visited; as a result, you know, of selecting a web page and telling the browser where to go. The interesting thing is that it does not produce these warnings from pages that I, as the only intelligent user of the browser in my system, have ever directed the browser to open! What seems to be happening is that the browser looks at all the goofy ad links on a web page I do actually open and selects one that "looks suspicious" and then creates the "something looks suspicious" web page, which is neatly inserted, as mentioned, between web pages my RB ("real brain") has directed the browser to load in a session. The thing is, I usually look at links I am considering to follow before I ask the browser to load them, and in cases I have noticed where the link does indeed look suspicious, most of the time I will choose to not follow the link at all. Doesn't everyone do this or something similar? I am picky about what I voluntarily load... (I don't like links that start off fine, with a site designaiton that seems normal enough but then is followed by indecipherable alphanumeric strings many, many lines long, etc. I tend to reject those because they look suspicious. They may not be, but I don't care... I'll stay with Firefox, of course, if for no other reason than they usually let you turn off the junk you don't like. And because it isn't Edge... But at some point Microsoft will come to realize that putting your bookmarks on the left side is a Good Thing for a lot of people, just as Microsoft discovered when it had the bright idea of nailing the Windows taskbar to the bottom of the screen, when for decades Microsoft browsers had left that placement up to the user. They have finally reversed the obscenity of that decision. Finally.
    • Google was using the old CATPCHAs data to train their LLMs. What is the say they won't use this camera data of users to train their LLM? these companies need some strict regulations!
    • Depends on what you need. Might be a bit clearer on what you plan to do with it. Sort of a waste if you get the newest and greatest, but don't know how to use it.
