Student-friendly ThinkPad X130e for $429

Lenovo?s ThinkPad X130e was announced back in December and it is now available for online purchase on the company?s website.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e is specifically designed for students in grades K-12 and is equipped with the technology needed for an educational laptop. Customers will have their choice of the latest Intel or AMD processors with integrated graphics in addition to wireless connectivity and multimedia tools for today?s digital learning. The laptop?s rugged build is designed to be handled by kids with its reinforced, extra durable top cover, and its sturdy keyboard and resilient hinges. Some of its other durability enhancement features include:

  • A top cover rubber bumper to absorb impacts to the side of the laptop
  • 33 percent stronger corner to reduce the chance of damage when dropped at an angle
  • Stronger hinges to outlast even the most frequent PC user at up to 30,000 cycles
  • Reinforced and recessed ports to decrease the effects of ?wear and tear?
  • Stronger Bezelwith 1.2mm thick plastic to protect the LED panel

The ThinkPad X130e weighs in at less than four pounds so students can easily carry the laptop between classes. In addition, the battery lasts up to 8.5 hoursso it can be used the entire school day without having the need to charge.
