Screw that, ligers are better.

I would argue that mountain lions are superior. Lions have to hunt in packs. Mountain Lions don't. If I was in a 20 square mile fenced off area, I would be more worried about the mountain lion than the lion.

The only thing I don't like about them using Mountain Lion is that now they can't use cougar or more importantly, puma. OS X Puma!!!!

Interesting. I've never heard of a Liger... LOL That's pretty cool. actually.

As for the OP, I dunno, I like the naming convention Apple has set in place and would expect them to hold off changing to a different animal species for a large update (Something Mountain Lion doesn't appear to be). At some point they're going to have to though as they're going to run out of easily recognizable and cool cats...

The day they release Mac OSX Calico it's clearly run its course... LOL

Tigers are greater than Lions I thought. Tigers are the biggest kitties. Lions are just fancier-looking because of the mane.

However, wild cats aren't very friendly. I prefer domesticated.

OS X Tabby Cat
OS X Russian Blue
OS X Scottish Fold

The next Mac OS would be probably be called Saber Tooth Tiger, or Bobcat.

What?

Many Apple pundits believed that Lion is the ultimate in cat series, and therefore thought that Apple would start with another animal family, such as snakes or birds, for it's next release.

Do you think it is a fail, because the Lion is the most superior cat. And a Mountain Lion first, would have made more sense.

Don't take this too seriously. Just a thought. ;)

Garfield is superior. Unfortunately, Apple can't reinvent it.

If they ever made an OS named OS X Garfield, I would buy it. Just wonder if it'll be able to boot on Mondays...

Name is alright, just like with all the other OS X cats I'm confident.

As for Mountain Lion being a Panther aka Puma, well, I don't have a problem about that.
In the end, this is a name for an OS, not an animal that you now try to differentiate.

I like how Apple sticks to the cat naming scheme, as I adore cats and I think it's well likable.
