What?s great about it is that it?s basically an OS-level feature. It hooks into any app you?ve got that supports sharing, and that will probably be most of them. Right now you can submit thumbnail, description, and link. How to use that data is probably up to the app, and it seems likely that the items pulled from the page being shared will diversify to include media and other info as needed.

The potential here is actually quite great. Drag and drop has always been a painful affair, particularly with a trackpad, and using Share in a fashion similar to the Send to right click option would do the same job, but hassle free. Or, from another point of view it does the job of the clipboard.

Given the state of the preview apps right now there isn't much opportunity to take advantage of this feature, but it could turn out to be one of the best aspects of the Metro UI.
