UPPER ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Cumberland County, PA --?

Over $36,000 dollars worth of computers are damaged at a Cumberland County elementary school after a child is caught urinating on them.

It happened on Thursday at Upper Allen Elementary School located along the 1700 block of South Market Street in Upper Allen Township.

Police say an 11-year-old boy urinated on a computer cart in the hallway which contained several MacBook's. :shifty:

All of the computers on the cart were damaged beyond repair, according to police reports.

The school put the loss at over $36,000 dollars.

The juvenile was turned over to the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department.

He is facing several charges including criminal mischief and institutional vandalism.

I'd think they could have washed away the urine -- but then, I never tried peeing on a computer.

Tbf it's just the american way, it's it's broke don't repair it just chuck it out and get a new one.

Worked well in WW2, now-a-days it's an old stupid and very outdated system.

They're beat up old MacBooks, probably costs more to fix than they are worth, pitch em and get new ones

He was trying to cool them down, see they were overheating and he heard the news that google's servers at one of thier datacenters used **** water to cool the servers... so he thought he would be very helpful and cool them down in an eco friendly way.

My theory is some teacher "accidentally" dropped the laptop trolley down some stairs, and then got little Charlie in his class to pee on them to cover it up. Both have unlocked an achievement.

Though you may find some health and safety hygiene rule says that they must all be disposed of, even if they do still work.

    • COBOL itself is not the problem. Code that has been bodged and kludged over decades but still somehow runs is probably the sort of Gordian knot that even AI can't necessarily unravel.
    • Nice devices but my Surface Pro 9 got bricked from a Windows Update efter only three years. Never buying a device from MS again.
