Why not get an Ivy Bridge CPU, Z77 motherboard instead?

Edit: It seems that Ivy Bridge processors haven't been released in the UK? I guess you should wait for them. These are the Z77 motherboards available on ebuyer: http://www.ebuyer.co...h?q=z77&x=0&y=0

Don't go Ivy Bridge yet if you're overclocking. The performance / cost ratio isn't really there, plus they run hotter.

If you aren't interested in overclocking, you can save some cash by getting the i5-3450 instead, which seems to be performing better than the i5-2400 and has the same price point.

You might also want to consider looking at a 6850, Gigabyte and MSI do OC models of that which will be better value than the 560.

+1 for the 3450 the K's are designed for over clocking so if your not doing that get the newer Ivy bridge...
Personally I'd stick with the 560, just personal preference but I prefer nvidia hardware, and the driver packages are better.

What games are you going to run? If your budget allows, upgrade to the 560 Ti or 560 Ti 448. You'll get better performance.

Just an FYI with that case, I built my dad a PC with that case and it gets really cramped (I didn't even put a GPU in). I suspect you may run into heat issues, as (I think) there is only space for 2 fans. You would need a mATX mobo too .Just noticed you have an ATX mobo and the case is for a Micro ATX. It wont fit!

good call AR, that is true. come on porter, that's the first thing you should check for! otherwise i have no problem with your other specs, except maybe the graphics. i mean if you're spending all this money on a new build get the latest gen, it makes a bigger difference in GPUs than in CPUs. i'd get a 7850 or wait a little for the GTX 670 (though the latter is way more expensive than that 560).

But this is a no goer I'm afraid, was a build I was proposing to a friend but he's decided by a pre-built PC from eBuyer instead
