Steam down?

Just a question... ever since last night I am unable to connect (and download games) via Steam.

Do more people get this message?

The Steam - Error I get is:

Could not connect to Steam network.

This could be due to a problem with your Internet connection, or with the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info.

On steampowered I cannot see a downage.

I live in The Netherlands (Europe)

A reinstall/repair of Steam wasn't the solution :(

i read somewhere that they were doing to be doing maintenance today.

Chat, game lobbies, and the community web site will be affected for the duration of the maintenance. Some content downloads may be briefly interrupted. Game play should generally not be interrupted but may be impacted for some multi-player titles.

I have not been having any issues with mine, if you are still not able to access it there might be something on your end. I would check for host file edits and proxy settings.

If you are using PeerBlock or something, you will have to whitelist Steam.

Works fine here too in Australia. though yesterday I had "No Connection" at the bottom of the client. It didn't take long for them to fix it back online.
