The *only* reason the price was dropped was Apple wanted to sell more phones then they currently were, and they could afford to do so. The price was set too high initially.
What I'm saying is Apple could drop the price without sacrificing (much) profit perhaps because of falling flash prices and sell more in the process. No idea why you act surprised, the following year this trend continued with the iPod touch's storage being doubled while maintaining the same price point. It isn't hard to imagine the initial batches of iPhones cost more than those following, especially not because of the high demand.

they are different devices and i'd use them in different situations. I'd still stick to my PC. Nothing can compare in raw processing power.
