Software RSS feed

Question

Posted

Hey Guys,
The "Software" RSS feed (http://www.neowin.net/news/rss/software) hasn't been working properly for several weeks now! It shows, at most 1 out dated news story!! At time of writing, it contains the "Microsoft developing a truly immersive gaming experience" story from last week and nothing else!

The other neowin RSS feeds have been working fine - but there's appears to be an issue with the Software feed!

Doesn't work for me:

edit: the http://www.neowin.ne...ws/rss/software doesn't work while feeds.feedburner.com/neowin-software works fine.

Hmmm... on further investigation, http://www.neowin.ne...ws/rss/software isn't working for me in Firefox 15, 16, or 17, however it is working correctly in IE9, Opera 12.02, Safari 5.1.7!

Chrome (24.0.1290.1 dev-m) is a little interesting too - when trying to access http://www.neowin.ne...ws/rss/software, the feed doesn't load, and I'm instead prompted to save a file named "software.webintents" (this doesn't happen with the main RSS feed, again, just the Software one!)

...so it would appear that there **IS** an issue with the Software RSS feed, but it isn't affecting all browsers!

EDIT: This only affects http://www.neowin.net/news/rss/software, as Copernic mentioned the Feedburner feed, http://feeds.feedburner.com/neowin-software works fine!
