Previews future Q models.

With this Crosslane Coupe, Audi is giving us a glimpse on the design of the Q2 and other models from its Q series. This is a plug-in hybrid concept consisting of a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter TFSI engine and two electric motors that allow the vehicle to return 213.8 mpg US (255 mpg UK or 1.1 liters / 100 km), with CO2 emissions of only 26 g/km.

It uses a Multimaterial Space Frame made from aluminum, CFRP and glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP), achieving a curb weight of approximately 3,064 lbs (1,390 kg). It has a combined power output of 177 hp (130 kW) and sprints from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.6 seconds in hybrid mode, while in all electric mode it needs 9.8 seconds. The Crosslane Coupe can hit a top speed of 113 mph (182 km/h) and provides a maximum electric range of 53.4 miles (86 km) from its 17.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.

This concept is 4.21 meters long, 1.88 meters wide and 1.51 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.56 meters. It is important to mention that this is a dual-mode hybrid so it enables different operating modes. Up to 34 mph (55 km/h), the drive power is provided by the second electric motor while in serial mode the TFSI engine and the first electric motor generate electrical energy for supporting, relieving or substituting the battery.

It can be driven in electric mode at speeds of up to 80.7 mph (130 km/h), while above 34 mph (55 km/h) the TFSI engine and the alternator are coupled to the drivetrain. The main drive source will be the TFSI engine above speeds of 80.7 mph (130 km/h) but the first electric motor can support if necessary.

Interesting looking concept. The shape is kind of ugly, but I kind of like the look of the interior.

Okay, I just looked through the pictures again, the shape is very ugly, not kind of. I'm not a big fan of the silly crossover type styling.

all audi's look the same on the outside

the best test is to get a woman who knows nothing about cars, and she will be able to correctly identify an audi, cos they all look the same! (whereas normally they would confuse a bmw with a merc).

the interior looks good, but unlikely for something "lower" down in the Q range to get that interior. Normally all their interiors are filled with black and red buttons like its the 80's!

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates. Diagram faster with keyboard shortcuts. draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 changelog: Uses electron 42.5.0 #2452 Updates to draw.io core 30.2.6.
