Removing non technical forums

Is there a way besides filtering in the minispy to not show certain forums when you log into the forums? Just curious, as I really am not interested in the political or real world sections of the site, but everytime I see a post I don't agree with I have to run to that thread and place my foot in my mouth. Is there a way to help my OCD condition out and not have them show up for my account at all?

You cannot remove them per say, but if you hover over the blue title bar for each section you'll be able to minimise it, effectively hiding it from view on the forum index.

Also if you hover over a sub-forum a heart icon will appear, click it to set it as a favourite to be at the top of the index.
